P80 Radiators Valero Nissens Behr

Post by abscate »

Part numbers

36000001, 36000000, 8602558, 8603767

I measured the inside snout on the Nissens to see if I can find a metal reinforcement sleeve for the cheaper aftermarket

It measures30 mm or 1 3/16 inch ID. Be careful not to measure the slightly wider piece to the rear.

Behr $100

Nissens. $125

Valeo $300...this is OEM Volvo and has the sleeves included.

Yeah, I don't think the Nissens I put in my R had any sleeves. I also had to transfer over the old u-clips to screw the condenser on. The radiator I was replacing was also a Nissens, but I can't quite tell where it failed. All I can say is that it was on the driver side, and the PO had poured some of that nasty metallic stop-leak in there, so I take it that it was a problem long before I had the car. I must have shaken it loose when I drained the coolant for the heater core and timing job. There's still some flakes coming back into the expansion tank Yuck...

The Nissens in my GLT has been good for the 3.5 years I've had it in there.
