Re: Active Xenon Headlight won't bend, V70 Mk3
On xc60 and I think v70, xc70 of 2008-2016 front headlights should be easy to remove. I believe it is just 2 pins that you lift upwards from the engine bay area and headlight is ready to be removed. I doubt that volvo made separate connector for left and right side, so first verify that your problem...

Re: 850 Turbo No Spark Frustrations
I recently had a similar no-spark condition and wanted to add a data point for myself as well. Over the past 8 months my 350k km 1996 850 Turbo developed an intermittent no-start condition (ie extended cranking without sounding like it was able to catch at all), 1 in 100 times or less. It would alwa...

Re: Parts brands - OE Volvo, trusted aftermarket, and bad
On another note, gotta say I always chose Nissens for cooling system stuff, but starting to be quite suspicious of their quality lately. - fitted a new expansion tank + cap from them a while ago, suddenly coolant started being pushed out of the system via the brand-new Nissens cap. The pressure rele...

Re: Driver door window track came loose in my 1997 850 T5 sedan
In your 2nd picture, you can see at the bottom of your hand there is what remains of the lower mount. If you look at the back edge of the door you will see a Torx screw. It will be attached to the other part of the broken mounting bracket. Like many parts on cars of this age, they become brittle aft...

Re: 2007 XC90 Antiskid ASC yaw sensor box Repair
I sympathize with your problem. I don't have a 30667512 Yaw module but can pass on the following wisdom: Clean up the 4 pins of the module to remove the corrosion. -Use a cardboard nail file and cut it to size to reach the module's pins. -Get some electronic contact cleaner or IPA to rinse the pins....

Re: 2000 V70R for sale, (SOLD), Southeast Michigan
Drove the car home and found/fixed the main source of the growl; pass hub bearing. It was so loud I couldn’t hear the ds hub growling. That’s my next opportunity! Spenser sold me a great car with a lot of maintenance performed. It turned out timely because my Laser blue 00v70r m56 tranny blew up two...

Comparison of vacuum oil change vs conventional method.
2016 xc70 T5(5cyl). Despite wonderful recommendations from Volvo to change oil every 10k I prefer to change it every 5k(or once a year whichever happens first). Since on this car you dont have to drop the splash guard to change oil filter, I decided to compare vacuum oil change method (from Harbor F...

Re: Vida CEM swapping
Despite not touching anything related to 3-4 upshift, I have developed a harsher upshift. For 2-3 I have increase the shift time to almost double to get more smoothness, but in the process of doing so, there is a slight flare but not in all conditions. So instead I plan to reduce shift times to less...

Re: Side illumination?
So the only solution is adaptive headlights? Wife's past car was 2016 XC60 in top trim. It has had adaptive Xenon headlights, and it still was worse than she has now in her Sequoia. Toyota simply makes a wider light beam pattern, so you see corners well. I certainly wouldn't invest time and money i...
