Right, I've never seen a P80 that didn't have them. Check your hinges, you should have these tabs that you can rotate.

The "23/0" is a factory wire splice. It's located in the plastic wire loom that runs across the front of the engine. Search Google for "1996 volvo 850 wiring diagrams pdf" (Or send me a message with an email) to see a better factory diagram, and also get locations of the splices,...

Nicely done. I actually used my hitch today. Rented a u haul trailer for $25 and did a dump/scrap metal run. Trailer weight about 1200lb and load was about 750lb. pulled just fine. My OCD is screaming at you to Buy a trailer receiver plug/cover!

It kind of does sound like an ECT issue. Might also be a FP relay (which could be the buzzing you hear, as it's located right in front of the driver in the cowl) I don't know of any mechanics, as I do all of my own work, but where in Indy are you? I might be able to lend a hand, or at least put eyes...
