Re: S60 2011 D3 replaced Cylinder head, Crankshaft few times, drains battery immediately
Try to use a voltmeter to check the voltage drop along the positive cable from battery to the engine with key in run position. This may indicate a large current draw from some short in the wiring. Large current draw would drain battery quickly. Have you checked for fuel pressure at the fuel rail? It...

Re: Plastic tube repair question
Would fusing the crack with heat or plastic welding retain flex? This is a problem for many vehicles. I have replaced a couple because of leaks. Actually, I just remembered flex cracking of the points at the front of corn harvesting headers also have this problem. These are made of polypropylene and...

Re: Sadness - 2002 V70 2.4T - Transmission Service Required - is it time to say goodbye?
My 2001 V70 transmission threw multiple Transmission Service Required messages with harsh shifts before I did a series of drains and refills with Mobil 3309 ATF. After 1200 miles all seems OK with smooth shifts and no messages. Your results may be worse, but don't give up on it yet. But I can't thin...

Re: Long term results for 2001 V70 auto transmission drain and fill
Now 1500 miles since the last drain and fill cycle. Still have smooth shifts and no codes set for Service Transmission. I may have a slight flare in 2 to 3 shift some times. I can't decide if it is real or imagined. Now 43K miles on this rebuilt transmission. Still very successful work, in my opinio...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
This fine Volvo appears to have had 20 years of dealer service and 3 years of neglect. You could do a lot worse. Several drain and fills on the transmission will likely give good results. If you don't need/ want to use the sunroof and don't care about the alarm, you can just ignore it. It must have ...

Re: Gas Smell. 84 244
Unless a gas leak is huge, the gas will evaporate before it makes a puddle. But you will still smell it. Check the areas you can see (at engine and along the bottom of the floor) for wet spots with the engine running. Likely leaks are at hose sections at the fuel rail and near the fuel pump and filt...

Re: 2006 S60 2.5T AWD: turbo rebuild notes
Thoughts on a left hand 17 In/Lb torque wrench. I have found small beam type torque wrenches. These work CW or CCW. Find the adapters needed for the screw driver bit. My hand held, hammer actuated impact wrench has short, hex drive screwdriver bits that might fit this job. Use a 6 point socket of ap...
