Maybe an ignition coil that's bad? That feels like "skipping" I guess. If they are old, just pulling them off the plugs might cause them to break.

Check fuel pressure. Tape it to your windshield so that u easily can check current pressure when things go bad.

I reused my bolts without threadlock or sealant. That was 10 yeras ago.
