Re: What is Transmission Fluid #31253 & Software Update 3067

While I am not a big fan of BG products (there are plenty of other more cost effective lubes & greases, etc), they claim their Synthetic ATF is Type-IV and 3309 compatible. They probably reversed engineered the product, just like Castrol and all the others. I doubt they paid royalties to Aisin-W...

Re: Cassette player in 07 XC70 ?

In a word: no; if you want a cassette player you will have to use the aux input. Have you thought about transcribing the cassettes onto an mp3 player?

Re: Cruise control has stopped working V70 - 2002

I've had my cruise control go out on me, too. It communicates via the CANBUS and sometimes the microprocessor that it's on needs to be reset. (Do your radio steering wheel controls still work?) Try this to reboot the all microprocessors. It works for me. -disconnect the battery, touch the cables to ...

Re: Leaking PS Fluid Reservoir

Volvo also changed the tank and hose design sometime in late '03 or early '04 and issued a TNN for it.

Re: Used Volvo Radio/CD HU-6 613

Do your steering wheel controls still work? If not, the HU is not the right part # for your model year; there are a few versions of the HU-613. Volvo does not list a separate part number for the bulbs, but I recall reading about somebody replacing them; may on swedespeed.

Re: v70 In-dash replacement receiver

there is no aftermarket HU with built in steering wheel compatibility with a P2 Volvo, you will need an adapter--and there is only one: Dietz (well, maybe there is another, but we know the former work: check out ss60's post on swedespeed.)

Re: 2001 XC. Has anyone bought ceramic brakes?

Ceramic pads shouldn't be any tougher on the rotors than the OE (metallic) pads. The OE pads ate up all four rotors on my vehicle at under 50K miles. I've been running Akebono Euro ceramics with Brembo replacement rotors since and have had no dusting problems and rotor wear is less if anything. The ...

Re: Mobil ATF JWS 3309

As far as I can gather from this forum 3309 is required in all 850/s70 models...though I believe I've been lucky with No. JWS 3309 ATF is only required for post MY99 (2000 in the US) automatics, variants of the Aisin-Warner 55/50 transmission. 3309 is, however, backwards compatible with most ATFs, ...

Re: trany fluid on 2006 V70..any synthetic will do?

ExxonMobil (Esso in Canada, right?) 3309 is the same stuff as in the Volvo OE bottle. "Synthetic" is not essential for this product, but if you must have it, Mobile 1 ATF in North America is now JWS 3309 compatible. Mobil also sells Mobil Multi-Vehicle ATF which is JWS 3309 compatible. Dat...

Re: de-activated cruise control - 2004 V70

Yes, the horn and radio controls do work. Is there a way to disconnect the hot wire that turns on the cruise? Does that left hand panel on the wheel with the cruise controls come off easily? I sure don't want to activate tha air bag. Thank you for your help. Buffnitty@aol.com If your radio controls...
