Re: Glovebox rattle
Thank you for all the suggestions! my glovebox is functioning correctly. it latches closed, and opens with a tug on the handle. yes, something could be loose, but I think it's coming from the latch on the glovebox door and the U shaped loop on the dash. part of it seems to be worn, as if it's been ...

Re: Factory Tire size 2004 V70 2.4
Never mind, I found the tire placard on the fuel filler door!
195/65-R15 it is.

Factory Tire size 2004 V70 2.4
I bought my car used and it came with 205/65-R15 installed by the previous owner. Tirerack says it should be 195/65-R15 but wheel-size.com thinks it should be 205/65-R15. What is the correct size for my car?

Roof Rails - non-OEM
I'm looking to add a roof top carrier to my 2004 V70. I was going to buy some used OEM rails (front to back) and then use a cross rail (side to side). But I'm reading that to install the OEM rails, I have to cut into a metal trim piece. But I see many aftermarket cross bars which clips into the door ...

Re: Identify this part - fuel system?
i've blown the top hose off twice and another overheat was the coolant bottle cracked.
Sounds serious! hopefully there was no other damage to the engine.
On a old Toyota, I learned the hard way that lifting the hood and trying to cool down the engine is not always a good idea, as the exhaust ...

Re: 2004 V70 Window moulding
It's been a while since my last post, but I finally got a permanent fix.
I looked at the moulding on the other side of the car. The front edge of the window moulding was tucked under the side mirror housing.
So I used a plastic pry tool, lifted the mirror housing just enough to slide the window ...

Re: Key locked inside the car, 2nd remote not unlocking
Does the car have the deadlocks? IIRC it can't be unlocked mechanically from outside if locked from inside.
Interesting.. so I tried using the key on the door and it won't turn no matter what. Given that the window frame was a little bent when I bought the car, the previous owner must have ...

Re: Key locked inside the car, 2nd remote not unlocking
Are you the original owner?
Maybe the ignition lock @ steering column was changed in the past?
I'm the 4th owner, purchased 2 years ago and driven 11k miles. The airbag was replaced from the recall, but I don't know about the steering column or ignition cylinder. But that would explain why the ...

Re: Key locked inside the car, 2nd remote not unlocking
So I'm going to be very careful not to lock the car with the key in the ignition.
Still, I wonder why neither of my physical keys won't work in the lock cylinder. I could almost swear that it worked months ago, and I have both original keys.
Could it be because the "Alarm system" service light is ...
