Re: 1994 960 Sedan Clunk/crunch sound over bumps

Turn your wheel all the way to the right, and heck out your control arms. Specifically look at the rubber connections between each joint. is it gone, smooshed, ripped etc.? Also look at the angle the wheel is sitting at with it turned out. You can also look at the front strut bushings under the hood...

If you are sure you do not have a blown gasket, look right behind the oil filter is a oil cooler that should have a hose in and out full of coolent. I would look here as this is your oil water interface. see attached photos

Re: 98 S90 250,000 Miles

danr960 - Well, I use about a quart per 3K. I have to be sure and change the oil on time, or at least put in a quart... My understanding is that the valve seals get hard and leak oil over time. I was told to only have the head rebuilt when I feel it is time. New engine not necessary. 98S90 - Sorry n...

Re: 1994 Volvo 960 Flashing Arrow and Mode Selector Lights

The flashing arrow and lights on the shift selector indicate that the car's computer has put you into "Limp mode." When my 98 s90 did this, it was because of a sensor in the transmission that had failed. Then later the position sensor failure also put the car into limp mode. "speed se...

98 S90 250,000 Miles

YEA!!!! Just rolled over my Odometer to $250,000. We bought the car in 2005 with 137K. Only real problem between there was the Vacuum motors under the dash, A new transmission (A sensor degraded and was eaten up by the transmission), and the Radiator had to be replaced. Not too shabby in 9 years! Th...

Re: Strong Vibration at 3000 RPM

So your belt comes off the crank pully and then goes over the ac pump. Since the vibration comes both with AC on and off, I would look elsewhere. I would also think the balancer would take chop out of the pulley there. I assume you don't have that awesome squeel from a loose belt or a failing idler ...

Re: 1987 740 Cassette wont eject

Yea, just from hunting around on the interwebs, it looks like there were multiple radio options for that year. You will have to pull the radio and look at the numbers. They are usually on the top, but could be on the back as well. I have also taken radios apart and manually removed cassettes. It inv...

Re: 1996 Volvo 960 Cruise Control

Thanks for the post. Glad you got it working. One last place to check if the problem returns. The CC module under the hood is the Big black round thing to the right by throttle body. The Big black round thing is a rubberized diaphragm. My mechanic told me they can tear and leak. As for the dome ligh...
