Re: Cold air intake for 850's
Hi All Does anyone have any ideas or maybe even some science on what the "optimal" temp is for air intake? I may be wrong, but I gather that the colder the air the better. Therefore, unless it's -40, you would actually never want the warm air intake working? Any ideas on what the benefit t...

Re: 1995 850 Turbo: Rotor and wires, will plain Bosh do?
Can I get the wires from the stealership or is the price just not worth it? FCP shipped me the Cap, Rotor Button, Leads& Plugs (along with some other stuff) cheaper than the stealer here would sell me the leads. All the FCP gear was OEM, the Bougicord leads come in a Bougicord box but also have...

Re: What's your gas milage?
I find it truly amazing that Volvo has managed to build a vehicle that varies so markedly (well, almost absurdly) on fuel economy. Some of the mileage(s) I see listed leave me gasping in wonder and amazement and, in some cases, complete bewilderment, when taking into account the fuel economy achiev...

Re: Large hole in block
Hi Never heard of it personally after 2 240's (family still owns them both), a 265 (sold), 3 360's (still have 1) and an 850 (daily drive, though very different engine). Our 240's are on 550,000ish (the speedo died at 440,00 about 12 years ago) and around 300,000. The one on 550,000 is an '81 GLT Es...

Pull the module, resolder bad joints and put it back together (and dont forget the sealant). Not a major task (a little harder than the Brake Position Sensor though).
What codes are you getting?

Re: Front strut replacememt - diy?
I just did my spring seats so I can comment on this. It was my first time ever. First, like it has been stated springs can kill you blah blah blah, yes you have to compress them and lock the compressor on for safety. That being said, it took me 30 minutes per side, the biggest slow down was the amo...

Re: What's your gas milage?
Around town I get around 12-13 ltr/100k (22-23.5 MPG). On a fast highway run 8.5 ltr/100k (33.5 MPG) or if I'm a little more frugal I have had it down to 7 ltr/100k (40 MPG). That's in a 1995 850 GLT Auto Estate. All stock but I have replaced all the filters, oil, tranny fluid, leads & dizzy rec...

Re: Brake Pedal Position sensor
Hi Just did mine. Essentially as the writeup says - get rid of booster pressure, pull the sensor out, get it apart (the hardest part of it! ) and resolder the connections. I had 141 and 142 from memory. Now no codes, no ABS light, and cruise & TRACS work again. While you're there, reset t...
