Does anyone have any ideas or maybe even some science on what the "optimal" temp is for air intake?

I may be wrong, but I gather that the colder the air the better. Therefore, unless it's -40, you would actually never want the warm air intake working?

Any ideas on what the benefit ...

Can I get the wires from the stealership or is the price just not worth it?

Never heard of it personally after 2 240's (family still owns them both), a 265 (sold), 3 360's (still have 1) and an 850 (daily drive, though very different engine).

Pull the module, resolder bad joints and put it back together (and dont forget the sealant). Not a major task (a little harder than the Brake Position Sensor though).

On a fast highway run 8.5 ltr/100k (33.5 MPG) or if I'm a little more frugal I have had it down to 7 ltr/100k (40 MPG).

Just did mine. Essentially as the writeup says - get rid of booster pressure, pull the sensor out, get it apart (the hardest part of it! :evil: ) and resolder the connections.

I had 141 and 142 from memory. Now no codes, no ABS light, and cruise & TRACS work again.
