Not wanting to panic people here but my Volvo tech advises complete fluid flush and new oils at 30,000 and 60,000, this is for a XC90 D5 se awd, I do tow a caravan a lot! for info purposes i had to replace my semi box because of poor servicing and NO fluid changes!! a bill of £2700,00 for a recondit...

Again i agree with stone36 about expensive tyres, I use General Grabber UHP for my AWD in the UK, superb tyres good tread depths and pattern, i use in all seasons, look pretty good on the car too!! cost difference Mitchelins £200.00 per tyre, Grabbers £ 114.00 per tyre uk pricing, some say there is ...

Had same problem with my 53 xc90 D5, had the battery checked at independant garage and found out the battery had simply had enough!! replaced battery and never had a problem since 4 months ago, hope this helps.

Very hot radio

Hi all, just a quick bit of help or advice required, my XC90 03 appears to have a very hot facia on the radio / cd area on the dashboard, is this normal or could there be something going wrong! the radio and cd plays ok but still very hot (no burning smells) strange any help from the gang out there ...

Hi, Just make sure it has full service history and good warrenties, can be expensive for repairs / parts, read my earlier reply to " reasons to buy an XC90 " love my car but has come at a hefty price due to me NOT having "due diligence" costs based on UK prices where i am based, ...

Hi,my 03 XC90 has been plagued with problems, 1/ Geartronic gearbox seized up £2700 for second hand replacement :evil: , intercooler started the problem with a hole £400 plus vat, 2/ all sway bars rods had to be replaced (easy for a diy fan £ 24.00 per side / pair, 3/ front bushes and arms replaced ...

Yep, sounds like wishbone bushes top and bottom, same noise i had both replace wishbones and top, bottom bushes cost £510.00 inc labour :shock: , sorry about price after you have got off the floor :)

Put the car back under Volvo dealer warranty (£500 in UK) you have to get the services done at main dealer but please be aware when the XC90 goes wrong, it goes wrong and can cost a bundle e.g geartronic transmission failed on my car the cost of a new box in UK around £5000.00 yes come off the floor...
