Re: replaced 2 window sliding blocks but window will only go up 3/4 way!
I just went through this myself about 2 weeks ago. Window arms were bent. I bent them back straight. Put lithium grease into the metal track the blue blocks slide in and on the balls which the blocks are pressed onto. Spray silicone spray into the rubber track the window edge rides in. Make sure the...

Re: Need some advice on this!
Mine had similar symptoms- was the throttle body. You may want to order one because it may not recover next time. Mine did not. Buying used from junk yard or Ebay is a good idea. Buy a new gasket which goes between the intake and TB. Be careful with the electrical plug going to the throttle body, he...

Re: 2001 S60 turbo intermittent starting
Check all high current connections going from battery to starter. A loose connection will sometimes arc over and make a better connection. Check ground side connections as well including engine to chassis cable. You would think it should not prevent it from starting once the engine spins over but ma...

Re: Driver side blows cool while Passenger side blows heat
Had similar problem. When I replaced the heater core I accidentally knocked one of the levers connected to the temperature control servo motor off and did not snap it back on properly. They are right above the drivers right foot next to where the pipes go into the core. If heater core was replaced, ...

Re: Pillar trim fabric - Which glue?
I tried removing and gluing mine back on and they did not fit right. If you have a local sewing store buy matching material, glue on an oversize piece, then cut after it dries.

Re: Ball joint install difficult, can't keep it straight
I had problems installing a Volvo OEM ball joint on the side which had a lot of corrosion. Not on the other side which did not. Suggest you use the use the Dremel sander or a rotary wire brush, lot of grease and air hammer on the pipe cap as noted above. A similar approach worked for me.

Re: Ocassional bizarre RPM spike while starting?
Had a similar problem on a 2001 S80. Was not able to fix but will tell you what I did. Ran additional heavy gauge copper ground connections between transmission and engine as well as between the starter attachment bolt and the inner fender well (chassis). Read once that if the transmission is replac...

I also had problems with the coupler. Spray with WD40 to see if it helps. If it does, you know for sure what the problem is. Replace it because it will happen again very soon. Not hard to replace. Couple of hours work.

Re: Air conditioning compressor won't kick in
I am not familiar with the Volvo AC system but many US car manufactures install a switch which will prevent the compressor from starting when the freon presure is low. You may want to buy a kit which enables you to recharge the AC system for about $40 to see if it helps. Do not buy a kit with a plas...
