Re: Oil Filler Cap Seized

Pie wench it is! Thanks for all the great replies, most appreciated. Is it just me or all those short torx head screws on the cam cover so you can see if your cams are getting oil ? Or maybe to lube them on start up because it can take so long for the head to get oil when you rebuild?

Re: Plastic sleeve between inner tie rod end and steering rack

By the way are you able to get a diagram of the oil flow chart for the oil passages in the head? My project car pushed the intake cam seal out I think because the PCV system was so clogged. when I pulled the cams out I noticed there was oil crust in many oil ports and they are clogged as well. I am ...

Oil Filler Cap Seized

Anyone seen this one before? I think this is why the oil condition was so bad, I don't think the previous owner changed the oil for a while. The cams were coated with oil resin or varnish. Anyways any tips appreciated thanks PS how do the cam lobes and lifters get oil? I see the oil port feeding the...

Re: PCV Write-up for 1999+ Volvo 5-cylinder

Thank you so much for that excellent tutorial on the PCV system maintenance. I couldn't find the new thread or new post button so please point me in the right direction. I rescued a 2000 v70xc from going to the wrecker. It had a clogged PCV system I suspect as it suddently blew its front cam seals a...

No Start possibly due to bad PNP?

Hi I have 98 v70 base model with a no start issue, sometimes it starts sometimes it doesn't, combined with a flashing winter driving mode button down on the gear shifter trim. Today it started and the winter driving mode button stopped flashing. At first I thought it was a starter issue but now I'm ...

Re: Cranks, then makes a high pitch noise, won't start

Hi, Thanks so much for the quick replies. I can't believe you remembered my 02 sensor issue It was so long ago I forgot I posted it. So I did check for a voltage drop and it was good so I replaced the starter and now no longer have the issue. Really appreciate the advice!
