So is that to say that, all things being equal, a FWD 01 or 02 would be okay? What about the manual transmissions for either of these model years? Issues of their own, or good to go?

So...I recently replaced the ETM with one from Xemodex. It had all of the symptoms...no power while pressing on the gas (sporadically), ETM light on (again, sporadically). Of course, the 'no power' would occur at the most inopportune time...like merging on the highway....whatever, it's in now. But.....

Yeah, upon further research (and some valuable input from Matty Moo) I have found the same. It's not quite as straight forward as it appears. So, I will need to either go with Xemodex, or another alternative...if there is such a thing.
