Re: Deal of the Decade? 850R for $500
I don't think so. . . a lot of people try to list their for sale Volvos as having a "type R" engine or being a "type R" to generate interest and higher price from the folks that are into the type R Honda performance community. No winter package (headlight wipers), stock front spo...

Re: Autozone Diagnostic Tests.
It sounds like someone is conspiring with the autozone guy to make money off unsuspecting customers (maybe to pay off the cost of his OBD reader :? ). In this same area (Pinole is across the bay from San Francisco) last year, someone was advertising for a while on craigslist that they would run OBD ...

Re: Service Light reset
The reset by pushing the pin (behind the rubber plug) on the dash display seems to be only available for 1995 and maybe some early '96 850 models that have the Yazaki instrument clusters. If you have the other cluster, you might be able to check ebay for a Draper reset tool or something similar that...

Re: Under engine air scoop missing. Volvo Wagon 1997 850 GLT
If you don't want to buy a new airguide and yours isn't damaged too badly, you can just drill two holes on each side, mount it back up and secure it with zip ties.

Re: Fuel Pump installation
woodrocanada, Having to hit the tank with a mallet to get started usually means that your fuel pump is going. Given the age of our cars, sometimes the fuel relay follows the pump or the relay goes out first. The jumper wire for the fuel relay testing isn't too hard to do if you follow Ozark Lee's wr...

Re: My 850
Hey Matthew,
Have you checked more carefully to see if Mr Egan had any other "special" parts installed on/inside your car besides the R spoiler?
That is a special car.

Re: Alpine 6 CD Changer For Sale
Alex, If you're looking for an adapter that will connect your Alpine CHM-630 changer to the factory headunit in an 850, I think one of these should work for you unless you get Kelvin (member on this site) to make you a custom one: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/volvo.html Let us know if this helps...

I had the same problem as you with the 36mm nut still stuck after soaking it in P'Blaster (like liquid wrench) for a few days and smacking the nut (not the axle) with the big hammer. I didn't have a torch to heat it up (some of those small ones you can get at home depot are supposed to be good), so ...
