Re: S80 fan noise inside when car off
I assume that you are confused about a very silent fan sound running for some minutes after you switched off the ignition. It is just a small fan like in your laptop. It is a fan blowing air over the thermostate for the cabin temperature, to make the ECC to be prepared for correct temperature. You c...

I think that you have a stocked broken thermostate, stocked in open position. Probably the old radiator was so dirty inside that the water flow through the radiator was reduced, for this reasion you got a warmer engine. Now with a new radiator with normal capacity, the cooling is to good with your t...

Hi, I repeat what I have been writing earlier in this forum: I have seen in the Swedish Volvo forum a lot of discussions about this problem. Finally, one Volvo technician informed that on the left side of the evaporator it is a sensor checking that it is not getting too cold ( = ice) in the evaporat...

Hi, I had the same problem. Yes, it is the speed indicator (top of the gear shift knop) rattling against the stick. The reason is that the knop has slided down a little, try to pull it upwards. The rather soft rubber knob is just pressed down to the stick and it seems like it is leaving it's correct...

Probably you have the same brake booster as the 740 series. It is a common problem that you have a leak where the vacuum hose is attached to the brake booster. That is just some sort of conical rubber cone pressed into the booster canister, supposed to be air tight. Very often, this simple connectio...

Hi, hopefully this can help you a little. Originally the bigger rotor was mostly used on turbo versions and also used together with 15 inch weels. The diameter of the smaller rotor is 14 inch and the bigger is 15 mm. You also need to know if you have ABS or not, same for the caliper. When looking in...

I have not done the job myself, but I will try to translate exactly what they say abot where to find it: This is a rather common fault, the sensor is easy to change. It is placed to the left under the dashboard, loosen the panel above the pedals and you will find it fastened by a bayonet joint upp t...

The do not show any pictures about this in the volvo-forum. According to the information this sensor is easy to reach. You reach the sensor form outside of the evaporator. You do not have to open the unit, just take away the panels so you can get access to the left side of the house for the evaporat...
