cylinder head replacement

I have a 1999 Volvo v70x/c 2.4l turbo the cylinder head is cracked so I was wondering would a cylinder head from a 1999 Volvo XC70 fit or can someone give me a list of Interchangeable models? thanks

I think from a 1999- you need to match the head with the same kind of variable valve timing, either intake, exhaust, or both, and the same displacement.

But, let the experts here chime in.

There is no such thing as a 99 XC70. That numbering system came out in 2003? Up until then they were V70 XC, even the first 2 years of the P2 models.

If you are taking the info off a website that is not a Volvo specialist parts supplier chances are they have it wrong. Contact them and you will find it SHOULD be the same as yours. Provisos as per the comments from abscate on checking the position of the VVT cam.

So you should have Exhaust only VVT, B5254T motor. VIN from donor car should be YV1**56**X*******

Sources would be 1999 C70 LPT cars, S70 GLT or AWD sedans, V70 GLT, AWD, or XC wagons.

If the cylinder head got hot enough to crack, I would replace the entire engine. Just my 2 cents.
