1995 850 “manual” swap help

Post by notavolvoguy »

I have a manual 95 850 glt. I’m swapping in the turbo motor from an auto T5R. I moved over motor, ECU, dash wiring, cluster from the donor car minus the auto wiring and TCU. I’m getting a no crank and I think it might be because the ECU is looking for the park/neutral signal which it’s not getting because my wagon is manual and none of the wiring is there. I can’t just jump pins on the auto harness. My thought is to try and jump pins wherever the auto harness goes to from the Center console. Where does that harness go to? Is there another way to get the ECU to think it’s in park/neutral? Does anyone have wiring diagrams for both cars?
Thanks in advance!

Everybody's friend Robert may talk about it in one of his swap vids. See if this helps from V/S:
http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic/11 ... ring-help/
And he could cover it here, even though it's not what you're doing:

You didn't mention the year of the donor car, please tell us it's not a '99+.

Look through these results: search.php?keywords=swap+TCU

I know we've covered this, but I didn't look through those results to find where.

He said the donor was a T5R, so a '95 as well.
