Is this a collapsed subframe bushing?

Help, Advice and DIY Tutorials on Volvo's P80 platform cars -- Volvo's 1990s "bread and butter" cars -- powered by the ubiquitous and durable Volvo inline 5-cylinder engine.

I now have the tool Volvo press PN 9995457. It is big and heavy. Photo this weekend.
Any thoughts on four replacement bushing, OE/OEM?

From steering gear replacement experience last winter, I am preparing to replace two rear subframe bushings.

Photos of progress.
Visible wear and tear around each support pad, but it won't come apart tomorrow.
The subframe needs to come down another 18mm for the nipple/guide pin to clear (red arrow), and the counter-hold tool to fit above.

For cutting tool to work it takes 30mm socket. Below is a mock-up, it needs a deeper socket for the cutting sleeve to turn.

You really don't need that tool to do the job. Hammer a screwdriver into the bushing at various places and it will crack apart. You can then slide the screwdriver down the side of the bushing and pry it out.

Pressing new bushing in:

Just wedge something between the body and subframe, then draw the new mount in using the 18mm bolt and a socket wrench. The last few mm can be achieved with a hammer, the bushing will pop into position with a little grunt from a sledge.

I agree that your old bushing was toast - The "feet" on the bushing should always be in contact with the lower retaining plate.

You shouldn't need the tool to remove/install the subframe bushings.
