Hello, I have my 1990 240 that I bought new. I upgraded the ECU years ago from the bad 556. I have replaced injectors, MAF, all vacuum lines, TPS, IAC, Temp Sensors, Oxy Sensor and other things. I do have a VX camshaft that I put in 20 years ago. My car idles a little rough but it will run pretty good and then it will just bog down when accelerating. When it is cold outside (below 55) it barely runs until it warms up. I do have a cold start injector that I confirmed works. I can live with the rough idle but the bogging down is driving me crazy. It will then catch up and take off.

At this point the only thing to replace is the ECU. Any ideas or does anyone have one they would sell? I appreciate any help.

Are you certain you do not have vacuum leak? Perhaps at the intake manifold gasket?

Well, I just had the manifold off and actually cleaned and polished it. I replaced several of the hoses like the ones to the IAC. I installed new gaskets. The vacuum did go up a little to about 16 at idle. (I have a gauge in the dash.) I put silicone grease around the new injectors. My flex hose is good. I put a new hose to brake booster. PCV was cleaned and hoses seemed tight.

It ran pretty good tonight on the way home. But earlier, it would bog when pulling out into traffic. Driving me crazy!!!
