It will not. The pump is available by the Oe manufacturer but you have to disassemble the pump in the assembly and install it

Abscate, you don't happen to have a link to the actual replacement pump unit you are mentioning. I am thinking it may be worth having one in the stash.

Thanks,

Neil.

So, I had some time today to work on my head ache. i finally got fuel coming thru the temp lines almost to the engine. To get fuel coming thru the temp lines i had to take out the whole fuel pump assembly take it all apart then reinstall the fuel pump because it did not sit correctly when i put the housing back around the new pump. Because i noticed i wasn't getting fuel after multiply tries then figure i check the fuel filter and no fuel was going to get.
Well as soon as i fixed that issue, I started priming the car after getting fuel pump right i noticed a good size leak coming from the metal line going to the engine right by where the fuel pump is. So what i did, was do a temp line from the fuel filter to the disconnect right before the engine. Car still wont start. I get some air pressure out of the end of the fuel rail but no fuel yet. Thinking my next mission is to pull the fuel rail out and clean that up. Maybe i just have a clog in it. Any ideas would help or even a shotgun to put the car out of my life.

When you ran a temporary fuel line from the filter to the engine, I believe this bypassed the FPR. I don't have an answer to the problem but I'm just wondering if bypassing the FPR affected the fuel delivery at the rail to give the symptom that you're describing :?: :?:
It's blowby

Hello everyone,

Since I am struggling with my awd fuel line issue (out of gas at half a tank), I managed to check both my pump, and my fuel line as far as i can;

issues i identified are, that If i put contact on psition II and crank immediatly after, there is no problem. If I wait like 2 minutes, engine starts and shuts off immediatly. I guess it is about a deffective check valve?
I plan to put one on the pipe routing immediatly after fuel pump, but where is the original check valve? I know that previous owner did change the pump (not the entire body, but, as Abscate did, only the electric pump ) by a Walbro GRJ 235. The half tank issue appeared after that intervention. Is it possible that the new pump had a deffective, or no check valve at all? where can i control this valve?

But I identified another problem, I just noticed that if i open my gas tank cap after some driving, ther is a big succion noise, only after 2 3 miles. Venting seems not clogged but it might be.

How can I unclogg it as, on gas cap side, it appears fine?

And in a AWD fuel system, with all its issues, what consequences can this have?

btw, s/O to OP for this very informative topic.

Thanks everyone!

When you run the gas from filter to fuel rail, you disable the system that brings gas from the left hand side to right hand side of the tank, and also overpressurise the fuel injection system to near 52 psi. The design is for 42 psi.

Hi, yes, but I'm not the one who did bypass the fuel pressure regulator 😁

On this picture,
Can we see the venting of the fuel tank ?
I thought it was the small hose under the gas cap but it appears to be just going trough the body of the car to prevent from gas on the painting.
As I have a problem of succion when I open the gas tank cap, where should I search for to unclog the gas tank venting ?

Thanks !

The black (well dirty black) plastic case on the side of the fuel filler pipe near the top with the 1/2" pipe running from it is the fuel vent pipe. Inside it there is a filter.
