ABS Sensor ohm readings

Post by MarcM »

Long time, no post. Anyone have the info on what the ABS sensors should read on a 2005 S60? I searched, but it gave me info for 850s, etc. I was able to get the rear seat up to get to the connectors for each side. One reads 18 Mohm (seems high) and the other is open (RR). Testing it on car no movement.

They should be a few thousand ohms. You need to disconnect the plug to measure to isolate

The open circuit one has a problem.

Thank you abscate. I disconnected under the rear seat. The open one was an error on my part. All 4 read 17.7-18.2 Mohms. I'm going to pull them from the hub assembly then retest. I'm hoping there's not a $450 XeMODex rebuilt unit in the future.

Marc...put your part number up and I'll compare mine. Maybe I'm quoting from my old guy memory from my bastard 99 which might be a P80 number. I'll check my 2005 P2 and report back later today

I doubt all four sensors are bad so I'm guessing they are ok if the all read 18 M Ohm

Since I replaced the CV joint shafts in the front... thinking I broke something or the shaft bolt in the end loosened up and shaft sliding in/out putting the magnet & sensor out of alignment. I just discovered a major issue, so at this point I'm abandoning that fix. :(
