Volvo has a tendency to have straight up incorrect info in the manuals.
ATF in a 99+ pump will not play nice. Only Pentosin CHF11S, CHF202, or equivalent is what should be run.
-98 pumps, ATF is just fine.

Re: Late P80 power steering fluid - Not listed on parts sites?
No, it very much changed with the pump switchover for ‘99. Any info stating otherwise is incorrect. Yes, even Volvo’s own literature. They tend to have the wrong info around the time they switch fluid specs - this isn’t the only example. Additives are not recommended and are a waste of money. Just r...

Re: 98 V70R fuel pump!
My '98 was a New York car its whole life and I just hit the subframe bolts in back with PB Blaster a couple times a day for a week. All came out without issue. Might be worth trying to drop the subframe down a little to access ala Robert DIY - I hate the idea of hacking up the car to do the pump

Re: Looking at a 1998 V70 XC, advice wanted.
I'm totally fine with FWD. So I'll keep an eye out for V70s and V70Rs. What years of V70 regular and R version are okay? Are the automatics okay in those? Sounds like the 2.5T motor is the one to go with regardless. Thanks everyone! If you're fine with putting in some work and want a more analog ex...

Re: Concerned about car lift points
Best place to jack the rear of a P80 XC (98 99 00) is the two round solid steel structures near the jack point Picture here Could you clarify and/or get pictures? They would be a massive help if you can. Thank you. Forward of the rear wheels, you will see it clear as day when you look under the car...

Re: C70 Subframe Bolts on 850 w/o Horseshoe Brace
Correct. Same hardware unless adding the brace, then the rear two get the longer bolts. I'd highly suggest adding that brace while you're at it though - it stiffens up the car nicely

Re: Can you still buy high performance camshafts for n/a 850s?
Following, also curious about NA performance stuff. TSP in Sweden makes high-lift cams for turbo cars, but not NA as far as I know. As far as reliability, it's probably a pretty bad idea. You'll get way more power reliably (and more cost effectively) if you just buy a turbo car.

Re: Comfort suspension - 1996 855R
The most comfortable setup on these cars that I've experienced is Bilstein B4 shocks/struts and H&R 29955 lowering springs. Rides better than stock, looks great, and handles fantastically. By far the best setup for P80.

Re: Another Car, Another Climate Issue. AC This Time.
And just like that, it’s fixed! Finally. No temp sensors on MCC as far as I can tell. It’s really archaic. Reading through my symptoms, it seemed a whole lot like a really exaggerated case of the compressor clutch needing shimming, so I shimmed the compressor anyway, figuring it can’t hurt. In the p...
