Re: No luck with Tasca, need to order new lock cylinder keyed to VIN, good source?
End of the story. I don't like reading hanging threads. Anyway, I sucked it up and ordered the whole new lock cylinder pre-cut to my existing keys. After spending a good 1/4 of the value of the car, I had it home. Waited a week and got my courage up and got my Dremel out and tried the first bolt, on...

Re: Full size spare tire in P2 S60/V70?
Update, I had a little time today so the 2007 S60 with 235-45-17 tires and L3 (H6) battery was the guinea pig... Attached is the photo of the factory spare tire vs full-size tire 235-45-17 . The 235-45-17 fits in terms of diameter but the thickness (the width) of the tire pushes the trunk plywood fl...

Re: Help with powering S60 seat -- Not in a Car
Wrapped this up (finally). I tried a number of ways to connect the center pins of SW4 to the fore/aft motor (A2), without much success. I found that spiking the center pin to the adjacent power pin would bring the circuit alive - but only long enough to move the motor briefly. I repeatedly spiked th...

Re: I can change gears without the key being in the ignition, 2007 XC70
Check the shifter lock cable on the left side of the console, you'll need to take the drivers side trim off the console side. there's a yellow connector block on the end of the cable that attaches it to the shifter that may be broken. Excluding that, the column lock may have something broken where t...

Re: 04 S60 - Windshield Washer Pump Always on with wipers
Solved! Mine and cn90 's hunches were correct. Stalk was the issue. Followed this video and cleaned contacts on the stalk's control board. Appears grease inside with the little slider can gum up the control board contacts. Easy peasy 15 minute and FREE repair. Did the turn signal stalk as well since...

Re: Extreme blow-by - No sludge in Oil Pan - 2007 XC70
I don't see any bug read flags in the codes. Exhaust leaks and vacuum line leaks could account for most of them, but most importantly is probably see which ones come back. That hose you talk about to the top of the cam cover is indeed part of the PCV system. All the oil on top could have easily come...

Re: Extreme blow-by - No sludge in Oil Pan - 2007 XC70
The PCV hose PN is 8692217. About $45 at Volvo dealer or FCPEuro. Do not use Rein or Vaico, it will break in 1-2 yrs. If you are so short of cash, then use a standard heater hose with I.D. = 5/8" and clamps. Just make sure the bend of the generic hose is gradual and not pinched. Yes, you can do...
