Smoked coil will blow a fuse. Check the fuse for the ignition coils in the main panel under the hood. I know this is way late but may be of value to others in the future.

Go to the back of the dimmer switch and jump the 2 wires together. This should put the lights on full bright all the time with lights on. Wrap 'em up with tape and you're good....

Had a new XC 70 in the shop today and wasn't able to find the service light reset. No trip odometer button as with previous models.

Continental belt is ok, INA for the tensioner and idler, Aisin for the water pump....Or original Volvo.

Any 5 speed manual trans will fit. The later the better. The earlier gearboxes had more failure tendencies. The driveshaft, coupling, and perhaps the clutch cable will probably be different as well as the flywheel, clutch assy, and the rest of the works.

Thanks for the reply Ben. I did the job and replace the complete arm with a Lemforder aftermarket arm. When I took it off, it didn't seem that that bushing would come off easily by itself. The job was fairly straight forward and took less than a couple of hours.

I think what you need to know is overall rotor diameter. The pads will coincide with that. The smallest diameter rotor will have 1 set of pads, and the 2 larger diameter rotors will use the same set of pads. As far as the rotors go, I would recommend finding the minimum thickness stamped on the roto...

If it is a T-6 then pass. Same basic transmission as the earlier S 80 T-6.

Look at the flywheel pick up sensor...AKA the reference sensor. On top of the transmission behind the cylinder head. Look for outer shielding coming unraveled near the sensor where it mounts. Other than that, I dunno...

Good deal. They are a bit of a pain to replace.
