Re: 1998 v70r PCV/Blown Seals
When you pull out the dipstick a little, wrap the area with some tin foil. Not super tight as you want the pressure to be released. This will help mitigate a mess if oil is spewed forth for this temp fix.

Re: 1998 volvov70 p0455 code
Your battery or its connections are no good. If there is any corrosion at the battery terminals it won't charge properly either. Check all connections, especially ground for the negative connection. Check the B+ cable too. The noise you heard is probably the secondary air system, the pump for that ...

Re: 1998 S70 Cranks but no start.
Just connecting the thing didn't fix anything if in fact you have a problem, Check out "lawn mower syndrome" here. Common, but I've never experienced it.

Re: 1999 V70 Front Wheel Bearing Mount Bolts
Way big-time good advice! I have boxes of nuts and bolts for an AH, a VW, a bunch of different Mazdas, old MBs and a new growing box of nuts and bolts for my 2 Volvos. True life savers on a Sunday evening.
Happy Thanksgiving to all in the US.

2004 V40 Turbo Looking At
I am looking at an 04 V40 Turbo. These "real" Volvos or glorified Mazdas (not a bad thing mind you). Maintenance is up to date, 1 owner, 90Kish miles. I own a 98 V70 and an S70 so know the general maintenance issues, know little to nothing about the 4 bangers. Any advice? To be used as long distance ...

Re: A formal introduction
Beautiful car. This is also what I am wanting. Guess I'll keep an eye on the classifieds a bit better. I had one of these, my first Volvo, a few years back. I got scared of it when it needed a lot of work as I knew nothing about it. Now, looking back I realize all my issues were basically nothing ...

Re: 2006 xc90 dealer says engine seized
Isn't that like a near 60K car? I love my old Volvos but you couldn't give me a new one. They've lost their way while moving "upmarket" (I hate that term).

Re: 99 s70t5 New Transmission or New Car?
Hey Lee, THANKS. I'm even saving those pictures. And you hit the nail on the head, these will be my "play" cars in retirement. I'm going after the absolute best I can afford since I know a restoration will take longer than Ive got to wait on it.
