Try a new crank position sensor. They are $20 from FCP Groton.com

Does that car have the snow ski pass through behind the arm rest? I have seen techs on 240s with this problem unbolt the trunk latch through that hole using some long rachet extensions.

Does that car have an airbag? I have never messed with the horn switch on an airbagged 240.

The general consensus is that these transmissions work best and last longer with a good synthetic gear lube. Look for RedLine MTL or Amsoil Synthetic gear lube.

Have you checked the Fuel Pressure Regulator? When the diaphram fails inside they will cause the car to run really rich.

Get a new harness from Dave Barton and put it in. It would still be cheaper than a new car.

Check your oil first, the cams in these motors will lock up in the head if the oil isnt changed frequently. They will make a high pitched squealing sound and you will loose power right before it locks up.

It could also be your water pump, powersteering pump or AC compressor.

What you need is a new engine wire harness. Read some of Dave Bartons info on this very common failure.(they all do it)
