My sister bought a new EX30 last month and she likes it! She had a XC40 Recharge before it, and she didn’t like that Volvo. The new EX30 is the Ultra trim, so it’s the loaded and fast 2-motor unit.
She’s still learning to trust the digital key. It automatically locks the doors when you walk away from the car. But for someone who has never had that (everyone lol) she isn’t sure if it truly locks after she’s 10 feet (give or take) away from it.
Beyond that, she reports the EX30 to be a real EV, and it feels like a real EV: zippy, fast, tight. Her XC40 Recharge by contrast didn’t feel cohesive, and that’s probably because it was conceived as an internal combustion engine car, but fitted with EV guts… so in some respects a “Factory Frankenstein“. She also disliked the EX40 because of very frequent infotainment glitches, and I admit some surprise that she chose another Volvo after that experience.
