V90 Cross Country Discontinued
The Volvo V90 Cross Country is done. Orders are closed, but as of yesterday there were roughly 140 on lots across the US, so run — don’t walk — to your dealer if you want what may be the last large wagon Volvo ever makes. The non-lifted regular wagon V90 was yeeted from Volvo’s lineup in 2021. Both debuted in 2017 to great anticipation and lots of expectation in the then-new SPA platform.
The V60 Polestar Engineered plug-in hybrid variant was discontinued in early 2025 in the US and is no longer available new.
You can still buy a new Volvo V60 Cross Country at a Volvo dealer in the US, as the 2026 model year is currently available to build, price, and purchase with available inventory, making it the sole wagon Volvo sells in the US.
New Volvos
EX30 Cross Country: Introduced as a 2026 model, a rugged variant of the EX30 electric SUV with increased ground clearance (0.7 inches higher, total 7.7 inches), all-wheel drive, and skid plates. U.S. sales expected late 2025
XC70 is reborn: While debuted globally in China as a plug-in hybrid SUV, no confirmation yet on North American availability. Volvo has indicated potential expansion to other markets, but US plans remain unconfirmed.
Built on Volvo Cars’ new Scalable Modular Architecture (SMA) platform for long-range plug-in hybrids, the new XC70 represents an important addition to the company’s product lineup. It is designed to meet growing demand for longer-range plug-in hybrids, particularly in China, where customers can now pre-order the car. Volvo Cars also plans to bring the car to Europe at a later stage.

Volvo EX60 EV to be revealed 21st January 2026. This will of course slot between the EX30 and EX90 SUVs.
Name Changes
- XC40 Recharge renamed to EX40.
- C40 Recharge renamed to EC40 (returns for 2026 model year).
- Plug-in hybrid models drop “Recharge” name, now use T8 suffix.
