The Volvo EX60 is a fully electric midsize SUV unveiled on January 21, 2026. It serves as the electric successor to the XC60 in Volvo’s lineup, positioned between the smaller EX30 and the larger EX90.
- Positioning: All-new fully electric midsize luxury SUV, the direct EV successor to the XC60, built on Volvo’s SPA3 platform with megacasting and cell-to-body battery.
- Range: Up to ~400 miles EPA / 503+ miles WLTP on top model, three battery options 80–112 kWh usable.
- Performance: P6 RWD 369 hp, P10 AWD 503 hp, P12 AWD 670 hp; 0-60 ~3.8 s on flagship.
- Charging: 800 V system, up to ~370 kW peak, ~173–210 mi in 10 min.
- Native NACS Port: Built-in Tesla Supercharger compatibility, no adapter needed.
- AI & Infotainment: HuginCore with Nvidia/Qualcomm/Google Gemini – conversational AI, OTA updates.
- Safety: World-first adaptive intelligent seatbelts + enhanced Pilot Assist.
- Pricing & Timeline: ~$55–60k starting, configurator early 2026, US deliveries late 2026/early 2027.
The EX60 is constructed on Volvo’s third-generation scalable SPA3 platform, which incorporates megacasting for the rear structure and a cell-to-body battery integration. This design improves structural rigidity, reduces weight, and enhances manufacturing efficiency compared to prior architectures.Three powertrain variants are available:
- P6 (rear-wheel drive, single motor, 369 hp, 80 kWh usable battery, estimated 310 miles EPA range).
- P10 (all-wheel drive, dual motors, 503 hp, 91 kWh usable battery, estimated 320 miles EPA range).
- P12 (all-wheel drive, dual motors, 670 hp, 112 kWh usable battery, estimated 400 miles EPA range on the top configuration).
WLTP estimates reach up to 810 km (approximately 503 miles) for the highest-spec AWD model. All variants feature an 800-volt electrical system, enabling peak DC fast-charging rates of up to 370 kW (some sources cite 400 kW under optimal conditions). This allows addition of roughly 173–210 miles of range in 10 minutes, with 10–80% charges possible in 18–19 minutes depending on the battery size.
The EX60 includes a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) port for direct compatibility with Tesla Superchargers. It supports bidirectional charging and a 19.2 kW onboard AC charger. The model debuts several technical features, including the HuginCore computing platform (powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin and Qualcomm hardware, integrated with Google Gemini AI for voice interaction and over-the-air updates) and multi-adaptive intelligent seatbelts that adjust in real time based on sensor data and driving conditions.
Production begins in Gothenburg, Sweden, in the first half of 2026, starting with P6 and P10 variants in April. U.S. deliveries are expected in summer 2026 for initial models, with the P12 following later in 2026 or early 2027. Estimated starting prices for well-equipped versions are around $55,000–$60,000 USD.
