I need to replace the muffler system and midpipe in my 1998 V70 AWD. From reading here and on Volvospeed, it seems that the dual muffler system, part no 9470703, from the 2000 V70R will fit. I realize it offers no performance benefit, but it looks great! The sources listed on the old threads don’t work any more. The only source I’ve found for it is MySwedishParts.com with a price of $346 plus shipping. Anyone know of a lower price source?
Also, while the ECT (Eurosport) dual exhaust is stainless steel, my guess is that it is louder and boomier than the Volvo version. Any experience with it?

Well, you can do what I did on my 98 V70R.
First, install that stock dual exhaust from an 00′ V70R.
Get a 12″ long 1/2″ or larger drill bit, remove the muffler tip, then drill out the blockage inside the driver side muffler. Then remove the accessible insulation.
Reduces back pressure by about 75%, and gives it a deep throaty sound.
