Instrument panel on the dashboard does not illuminate

Problems with your Instrument panel?

1996 volvo s40 1.8L t4 – the instrument panel on the dashboard does not illuminate and i cannot find out where the fuse is for the instrument panel. Is it possible for anybody to point me in the right direction?

hi all once again. had to take my car to volvo main dealer who fault tested it and found that the wiring lomb from the passenger side front headlight had a short in it which had burnt right back to headlight switch.

The good news is that i went to a local breakers yard and got another headlight switch, the wiring lomb. it took me around 3.5hours to get it all out and around 7hours to get it all back into my car. at a cost of £35. quite abit cheeper than main dealership i presume. Job done, quite easy if you take your time.

The only light i have out now is the drivers side rear running light which volvo says is a light replacement as its a sealed unit. £12 of the dreaded ebay as local breakers yard has none.

Bonus! More on the Volvo S40

With the S40, Volvo offered the same comfort and safety levels in compact size as the drivers of the larger 850 had already enjoyed for some years.

Soon, the two original versions (with 1.8 and 2.0 litre engines) were supplemented with new economic and exciting models. From the fuel-thrifty turbodiesel version to the high-performance T4 (200 bhp) performance S40 model, a worthy successor to classic performance Volvos like the PV544 Sport, the P1800 and the 240 Turbo.

However, the S40 has not only become popular on regular roads – it has also become a spectacular racing car, its most remarkable success notched up when Richard Rydell won the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) in his S40 1998. The S40 has also been quite successful in the STCC (the Swedish Touring Car Championship).

In 2000, the S40 was introduced in North America.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen
I have a 2002 S60 T-5 turbo FWD
The instrument panel is out and have had a local shop look at it.
They attempted to solder a few contacts and it worked for a few days and then went out again.
I understand there are shops located on the East coast Tennessee/Kentucky and a few other locations I can get my DIA or data information cluster can get fixed and sent back to me.

Please assist with any contact phone numbers, addresses and email and what information or reputation you know of these “fix it” shops.
I have heard various stories regarding sending them $250 and 2 day shipping and I can get it back in working condition in 5 business days. What do you know of this and what reliability have you encountered?

thanks for any assistance.

I have a similiar proble with my 1995 850 4 dr sedan I just purchased for my Grandson, who is a freshman in college 2012. None of the interior, dash board or interior lights bulbs are working. I checked all the fuses in the fuse box under the hood, on the driver side of the car. Per the eariler thread is there another interior fuse panel under the dash board that fees these interior lights?
