Performance Tire Test: Continental Wins

Let’s get this Performance Tire Test Going!

Don’t ask me why they’re testing Summer tires in the Fall, but whatever the case, here are the results of a recent Tire Rack test:

Take Results with a Grain of Salt

Keep in mind that graph is truncated (top and bottom ends cut off), so the results look like there is a bigger difference between the tires than there really is. The truth is that the lowest scoring tire, the Kumho Ecsta LE Sport, earns a score that represents 95% of the highest score, that of the Continental ExtremeContact DW (7.15 ÷ 7.55 = .95).

Bonus! Volvo Facts

  • There’s a Volvo innovation in nearly every car on the road today. In 1976, we launched the Lambda sensor, which converts toxic engine fumes into less harmful gasses. Our cars are kind to the environment every step of the way. Every Volvo factory in Europe is powering by green electricity, and all Volvos are designed to be 85% recyclable and 95% recoverable.
