Polestar has been a hive of very busy bees these last few years, and their products in the next several years look to be sweeter than honey. (Volvo and Polestar share the same parent company, Geely, and the CMA platform, on which the Volvo XC40 and Polestar 2 are built. Polestar is essentially Volvo’s EV subsidiary.)
Polestar 4

The four-door 4 electric SUV will go on sale in 2024 at an expected base price of $60,000. You’ll hear a lot about its lack of rear window. Yes, you read that right.
The Polestar 4’s styling is heavily inspired by the Precept concept, including a nonexistent rear window. Instead, there’s a rear-facing, roof-mounted camera that feeds a digital rearview mirror.

Polestar 5

The Polestar 5 will be a Tesla Model S-fighting high-end EV sedan, and it’s expected next year at the $100,000 price point. It springs from the Precept prototype — first shown in 2020 — and will be based on the SEA platform.
Polestar has confirmed little about the 5, but we know it will offer dual electric motors with up to 884 horsepower, a competitive driving range (think 300 miles, minimum), and eco-friendly interior materials. The company has said that it plans to build an entire manufacturing facility in China devoted to building the Polestar 5 and intends the new plant to be carbon neutral.

Polestar 6

Following in the footsteps of the Polestar 1 halo car, the Polestar 6 is set for a 2026 debut, and it’s also set to increase heart rates of everyone who appreciates cars. Halo cars are important for design-driven manufacturers, and the 1 will be very long in the tooth (and way out of production) by the mid-2020s. How many sales of other Polestar cars and SUVs will be attributable to the 6 we’ll never know, but this writer knows he will certainly be in a Polestar showroom that year to view this car up close.
Polestar hasn’t released detailed specifications for its upcoming sports car but said it will share the 800-volt electric architecture with the Polestar 5 sedan, including that car’s 884-hp dual-motor electric powertrain. Polestar estimates that this should provide enough acceleration to hit 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds.
