I Bought a Volvo V70 R and needed a service item checklist.
I bought a 2004 V70 R in 2010, and I needed to “baseline” it, get it back to Stage 0. Volvo P2 generation cars are more picky about fluid age and quality, and I wanted it to drive like it came right out of the Ghent, Belgium factory like it did in July 2003. After the 90k service listed below, I gave her some Seafoam and new tires from TireRack.
Here is the 90k miles service topic in the Volvo Forum.
The 90k Service Item Checklist
- Oil – Synthetic – Red Line, Syntec or Mobil 1
- Transmission Flush W/ BG Synthetic or Volvo 3309 12qts
- Synthetic Volvo Bevel Gear Drain and Fill
- Power Steering Green Volvo Synthetic Fluid Flush
- Volvo Blue Coolant Flush
- Castrol Synthetic Brake Fluid Flush
- Volvo Haldex Flush and Fill DIY
- Volvo Diff Flush and Fill DIY
- Volvo R Spark Plugs
- Air Filter – K&N
- Fuel Filter
- Pollen Filter
- BG MOA
- BG 44K
My wife is finding the most relaxed setting on the adjustable suspension is not soft enough over the rough roads here (is there any region in North America that has good roads any more?). I told her new tires (coming in 2 months or less) will somewhat mitigate the rough ride, but “don’t expect miracles”.
All the treatment I’ve given the V70 has REALLY woken up the engine. Night and day compared to my test drives. It was no faster than my 850 T5 in those test drives, but I knew a dragon lay sleeping under the hood. Just needed a little tune.
