S80 Turn Signal Fuse Numbers

volvo turn signal

Save some money and diagnose your volvo turn signal issues on your own.

The steering wheel module (SWM) stops working, this affects the turn signal, horn, cruise control, and audio buttons on the steering wheel. This fuse box is located at the far left side of the instrument panel. Extra fuses and the fuse removal tool are also stored here. When replacing a blown fuse, be sure to replace it with a new one of the same color and amperage (written on the fuse).

If your convenience lights, turn signals, seat warmers, stereo, headlights or other electronic components suddenly stop working, chances are you have a fuse that has blown out. Check and change blown fuses in the engine bay of your 2003 Volvo S80 in addition to where the fuse box diagram is located. Fuses should always be the first thing you check if your S80 is experiencing electrical difficulties because they are relatively easy and inexpensive to change yourself. The more electronics your S80 has, the more fuses it has. Some Volvos have multiple fuse boxes in the engine bay, so be sure to find the fuse(s) in question. Some components may have multiple fuses, so make sure you check all of the fuses that are linked to the component that is no longer working properly.

If you need to replace a blown fuse in your S80, make sure you replace it with one that has the same amperage as the blown fuse. If checking and replacing the fuse for the component in question doesn’t work, we recommend seeking assistance from a trusted professional mechanic. They should be able to figure out if the component needs to be replaced or if there is a short or some other problem with your S80.

I have a 99 S80 & am trying to identify which relay operates the turn signals so I can replace it. Can anyone help?

MVS Forum Member Guest replied:

I repaired this per the post from Nov 6 2005. Pull # 21 & 22 fuses to reset module. Everything works now. Thanks.

Thank you a thousand times for the information about pulling the 21 and 22 fuses to reset the steering column module. We have a 99 S-80 and the turn signal along with the rest of the contols on the steering column quit working. I was getting ready for another big repair bill but your advice worked. I’m very curious why this happened, any ideas? Is this an indication that the module is going bad?
