Volvo’s all-new, all-electric EX90 is expected in 2024, and they’re taking orders now. “Well-equipped under $80,000.” Eighty grand is some serious money, but I suppose that’s the entry fee for the new age of large, luxurious EVs, and there’s nothing to be done about it except pay it or don’t pay it. If you do pay it…
The process is simple, just click “Reserve” enter your zip code and select the Volvo retailer you want to take delivery of your vehicle at. Then enter your contact information and submit your fully refundable $500 deposit. We’ll email you when it’s time to design and configure your car online.
Let’s look at some Features
Headlight wink: Yes, you read that right. The headlights “wink” when you turn the EX90 on.
Large, 14.5-inch, vertically-oriented infotainment screen: Tesla drivers will find this to be very familiar.

No physical buttons: I’m not going to pull punches. I don’t like this. There is not even a hazards light button. With no physical buttons, there is no “muscle memory” to build up, and you have to hunt inside the infotainment screen for buttons for such pedestrian things as turning on heated seats. Let’s hope the features menu design is the best menu the world has ever created, because hunting and poking at buttons on a screen and driving don’t mix well.

Charge when Electricity Rates are Low
This feature is pretty neat, and it’s novel things like this that bring customers in.
To further lower the cost, you can pre-set your Volvo EX90 to charge during the times when the rates are the lowest, often at night.

See Volvo’s EX90 page here, where you can enjoy some animations showing off the new EV’s features and capabilities.
