I’ve read some conflicting reports that some boxes require an “always-on” 12V, some boxes require a “switched” 12V, and others require both!
Based on the wiring diagram, it looks like:
1) Switched from ignition – Pin 1
2) Always on – Pin 3
3) Switched from Radio (via power antenna) – Pin 5
Running the converter box off the “Switched from Radio” makes the most sense. The converter box would come on only when the radio is on.
