S80 Timing Belt Questions

Do You Have S80 Timing Belt Questions?

1. Make sure your timing marks all line up before removing the belt!

2. After installing the new belt, rotate your engine two full turns by hand (turn the 30mm nut with a wrench; socket extensions help here) and verify that the timing marks still line up.

3. Do the whole job with lots of patience. It takes less time to replace a timing belt carefully than to rebuild the top end in a hurry.

I am half way into removing everything for my 2008 Volvo S-80 3.2 yet need to get some sort of Repair Manual to help me with the remaining questions I have. Maybe a PDF online of this year, make and model. I can’t seem to even get the Serpentine Belt off without having to remove so much more, A/C compressor bracket & Power Steers Unit I think ?

Has anyone done this job and have any advice for me. I am looking forward to taking on this project but need to make sure that I do it correctly. Also, are there special tool(s) needed ? Thanks for the replies.

I have Volvo S-80 2001.Recently I was change timer belt and water pump. After I drove about 20,000 miles I discovered my timer belt full with motor oil.I changed timer belt and 3 following gaskets upper and lower and new belt again.I have still this problem oil on timer belt continued spray to belt, but much lower than I have before. When car working on neutral,no oil was observed.I sugested it could happen when car drove about 60/per hour.Currently all mechanics can not find solution to fix this problem, because it not could be if change everething relative with oil.
