Some P80 Volvos have side markers (most S70, V70, XC70, C70)
Some are pre-wired but have no lights (some 850, S70, V70, XC70, C70).
And some have nothing (my 850, most 850s).
For those who have Volvo side badges but always wanted side marker lights, here’s how to DIY.
What to Buy & How to Install Them

Open the hood.

Undo the spring to your corner lamps.

Release the wiring harness to the corner lamp and pull it out so you can work on it.

Wiring harness up close.

Splice into grey wire and green/blue wire (your wires’ colors may differ) with several meters/yards (measure it out) of 18-ish gauge wire. My wire gauge is a little too big, but it shouldn’t be a problem.

There’s the mess I made. Actually, it’s functional but ugly. After splicing with those timesaving splicers, I wrapped the splices in self-fusing tape. They should be durable and protected from the elements.

Attach the wires to a coathanger and thread them down the inside of the fender. I’ll have a better photo of where to start them up soon.

Pop out your badge and weasel those wires right up to the hole. You might need another coathanger to grab the fist coathanger, to pull it in.

Wire your corner light harness to the wires, and plug in to your side marker lights.

Test.
