Following photos and notes extends the pioneer Delta Link tutorial of Ozark Lee.
The project included replacing coil springs, delta links, and anchorage mounts – all using new nuts and bolts. There was plenty of room and time to replace muffler too.
DELTA LINK Procedure
Battery negative terminal was disconnected.
After raising the car, wheels off, springs and socks were removed.
Now the rear spring seat rests on a movable cart.
support spring seat at each end – a bottle jack supports the transverse arm
passenger side is supported with floor jack
remove delta mount from the guide pin – unclip brake line
remove T25 to free brake line
remove 10mm screw and free brake line at driver side
take off 10mm fuel filter bracket screw, pull off valve vacuum hose to the engine, and set the delta mount bracket on the ground at passenger side
place a bungie cord around the two transverse arm
At this point you have all the fasteners removed, the anchorage mount is marked for alignment, anti-torsion bar removed.
Now pull apart the two transverse arms just far enough that mounts are out of respective mounting points – floor jack and cart will help it walk away.anchorage mount at driver side
anchorage mount at passenger side – i had to cut-off and then grind the bolt head and stud
driver side anchorage mount removed – 18mm bolt
passenger side mount new and old
The delta tool makes removing it a snapusing C clamp to keep the pin in place, else it moves
spray bushing with soapy water first…and then turn – it pops out, no heat was necessary
