Do we Keep or Sell !?
Time to Cut This Volvo Loose?
I own a 2001 S80 2.9L and have done my best to keep up with the basic maintenance. Being a 11-year-old car and at 105K miles, it has never left me stranded which is awesome because I’ve owned some pretty crappy cars in the past. Even still, I’m a little paranoid about it breaking down. A few things have straight-up broken ($$$ window regulator thingy) but otherwise I’ve just been paying for maintenance required for an aging car. Approximately $300/month for repairs alone. That’s kind of a lot for me.
So what do you think? Keep or sell?

Bonus! More about the 2001 Volvo S80
Late 2001 introduced the 120 kW (163 PS; 161 bhp) five-cylinder common rail diesel D5, detuned to 96 kW (131 PS; 129 bhp) and sold as 2.4D in some markets.
In some European countries, the entry level S80 came with a 2.0-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 182 PS (134 kW; 180 bhp) and a T5 badged S80 with the same engine but tuned to 226 PS (166 kW; 223 bhp) with the help of the Mitsubishi TD04-16t high pressure turbo also found in the early S60 T5s. These were sold in countries such as Portugal where larger capacity engines were penalized by heavy taxes.
Minor exterior design changes occurred between 2003 and 2004 versions, notably front grille styling.

WTF!!! $300 a month what all needed to be done? my first volvo was a 94 850T nothing special ,but it beat a vet in a race. I crashed that car,but I loved volvos since. I own 2 OLD volvo’s right now. a 99 C70 coupe & and a 98 V70R fully stage 1 uppgraded. I dont spend too much $$$ keeping them up. I am having a SAS problem on the V70R right now but it is not that big of a deal so I’m taking my time with it. check engine lights for 0410 & 0109 keep coming on maily the 0109 one . the key is to do your own repairs. check ebay for the parts you need , and be sure to get a haynes brake down book for your car. go to IPD and buy the scangauge2 its awesome and helps figure out whats going on with your car. I would keep you car just work out the kinks the best and most cheapest way you can because the volvo dealerships charge over $125 an hour and they only part swap untill they can find the problem which can cost you unnecessary $$$ in fixes that didn’t need to be done.
