Can you lift an XC70?
Lift an XC70The answer is yes you can the rear was lifted via some adjustable spacers I got 2 1/4 inches lift in the rear and 1 3/4 lift in the in the front.. It needs a tweak here and there..The rear uses a part made by allstar part # 56118 and a 2 inch rubber plumbing fitting to keep unit center the was 2×2 and trimmed to fit the lowerspring pocket. The lower spring bushing fits great into the allstar part and the unit sits flush with lower control arm. .I cut 3/4 of spring. Loop of the bottom of the rear spring . The allstar units fits great with the rubber plumbing fitting could use some more.trimming.ont the springThe front has xc90 struts with a trim here.and there with a die grinder and will need some adjustable camber mounts in the front or a die grinder

I never like open ended post that never get out all the info… The front XC90 struts are out of 2006 V8 XC90 ..My first attempt was try and use the bottom factory hole in the strut and drill a new top hole did not work unable to fit extreme angle ..So the second attempt became clear the bottom hole needed to chopped off to clear CV boot and I would attempt to use the top hole and redrill a new bottom hole success .Well sort of success it fit and raised the car 1.75 inches but throws the camber off and sits close to the strut tower ..Hmm. ?? Maybe a BFH is in order to clearance the strut tower and adjustable camber plates or cheaper yet camber bolts ? Again I will try not to leave this open ended so some one in the future will have a leg up.
Neil I would have to say the rear has stayed within specs with the upper and lower control arms tied to the rear knuckle it is not like the single control arm set up so no fear NO camber issue if there were camber issue every lowered R would be eating tires..And the rear stabilizer bar that you speak only adjust the toe on the rear there appears to ZERO camber adjustment for the rear end of these cars.
Ok so I would like.some more lift in the front after it settled. So I will be making some spacers to get it up in the air.
So as I stated earlier I never like to leave these open ended threads I say share the knowledge as people have before me I will fill in what is kinda missing for this year 1998 volvo v70xc .I am at the point with the front end lift that some of it is out there with Ken IPD lift making spacers for the front subframe but no real dimensions …So I made the front spacers from HDPE yes cutting board material I bought some 1/8th inch material and the cutting board is 3/8th inch thick. That gave me a 1/2 inch thick spacer for the subframe the passengers side is just drilled out to the bolt diameter with a step bit the drivers side is a little different it has a 1 inch aligment bushing on the front and rear so I grabbed a 1 inch spade and drilled the center out the works great .. I see zero side effects at this time with the spacers .The front rear subframe brackets have three bolts so you will need to make the extra rear two spacers out of the same material and I bought 8.8 bolts 50mm long bolts the factory bolts will be to short oh and you will need some fender washers that are not installed in photo.. And the 30mm spacers from ebay I added two more 3/8th inch spacers on the bottom side ..
