Rear wheel drive 740 rims fit on V70?

MikeQ » Hi; I just joined the forum but go back a long way with Volvo’s. I’ve owned everything from a 144, P1800 coupe right up to my latest purchase, a 2006 V70 2.5T.

I have a set of 16″ windmill rims from my old 740. Would these fit on my 2006 V70? I’m not sure if the bolt pattern is the same or if there is clearance for the brake callipers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

tjts1 » Yes you can.

FCPEURO » The bolt pattern is the same, but the offset is not. The will stick out about 20mm to far. You can put FWD/AWD rims on a RWD car with spacers, just not the other way around.

RWD wheels are cheap and a lot of people use them to mount snow tires. Yes there is a difference in offset but you’ll hardly notice it. Your 2006 has bigger brakes so make sure the diameter is big enough to clear.
