Vacuum Lines on Turbo 1993-2000 850/S70/V70/XC70

Documenting Vacuum Hoses on Pre-2001 850/S70/V70/XC70 Turbos

MVS Forums Contributor and enthusiast CN90 turns the volume up to maximum and cranks out a beautiful post about a particular Pre-2001 850/S70/V70/XC70 failure point: vacuum lines.

[Looking for non-turbo vacuum line routing?]

I just want to dedicate a thread strictly to photographing the vacuum lines in these aging Volvos.

As the car gets older, vacuum hoses break and people are always asking for diagram. The problem with underhood sticker is that: it looks good on paper but it has its limitation, i.e., no real photos.

I just spent 1h photographing different vacuum lines of my 1998 Volvo S70 GLT.

If you have other photos, please annotate them with arrows/caption etc. and post them (especially those with blue silicone hoses lol…).

Bonus – More About Volvo

What does Volvo stand for? For a long time, the Swedes focused on safety. Scandinavian design held a role in the brand’s persona, too, although many read this style as “boxy.” And today, Volvo has its sights set on the future, adopting electrification and steaming toward the development of self-driving cars with zeal. Lost among these many faces of Volvo are those sporty, cool cars it has produced throughout the years. Many of these rides competed in rallies and races, and some were seriously fast road cars, including the outgoing S60 Polestar and, we presume, the upcoming Polestar 1 coupe.
