The car creaks loudly when you turn tight into a parking lot or making a u turn. Sounds like a haunted house door. I thought maybe the tire was rubbing against the wheelwell, but I dont see any wear on the tires. This has been happening for a while. thank you for any information.
Colonialgirl » I had this problem on the right front of my ’98 S-70, I bought new front struts (probably didn’t need them but at 100K ?) and I also bought a new right front strut mount. When I got the struts out and pulled the right side mount, I discovered that the bushing had come loose and the strut shaft was rubbing and had worn away the side of the rubber stuff in the mount, hence the squeaking noise, replaced the mount and got one for the left side too as the rubber in it was getting all dried out and loose; wouldn’t have been long until it was noisy too. I live down a dirt road that gets like an oldtime washboard after a bit of rain.
scot850 » Mine was eventually (at great expense) tracked down to a loose rear sub-frame mount. Only happened when turning left and was the RHR sub-frame mount being loose.
